Dante Alighieri
Exiled from Florence, his hometown, and after several wanderings, in 1318 Dante settled in Ravenna where he concluded the writing of his Commedia, which Boccaccio called "divine". The stay of the Supreme Poet in the city was short, however, died there in 1321. Even today his bones are kept at the tomb built by Camillo Morigia, in the shadow of a large oak tree planted by Giosuè Carducci.
